On April 10th, 34 participants representing various organizations in Schuyler County helped to decide on the health priority areas to focus efforts on through 2021. This meeting was a part of the process that Schuyler County Public Health and Schuyler Hospital goes through to update their Community Health assessment (CHA), Community Service Plan (CSP) and Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP) every three years. Participants were asked for their input on different potential priorities based on data and additional community input received in 2018. A summary of the data and community input received so far is available below, along with the presentation that was given at the priority setting meeting. The two top scoring focus areas, Prevent Mental and Substance Use Disorders and Preventative Care and Management, are areas that Schuyler County Public Health and Schuyler Hospital will use to develop the 2019-2021 CSP and CHIP with community stakeholder involvement. If community stakeholders have community resources available regarding these focus areas, please contact Schuyler County Public Health at scph@co.schuyler.ny.us. The completed CHIP and CSP will be made available at the end of 2019 on both the Schuyler County Public Health and Schuyler Hospital websites.
