[ARCHIVED] HEAL Schuyler is Looking for Restaurant Participants for New FREE Promotional Program

HEAL (Healthy Eating Active Living) Schuyler is seeking local restaurants to participate in “Choose HEALth, -Healthy Food Choices in Schuyler County” by including healthy options on menus. The program is a free awareness campaign that begins this summer. HEAL Schuyler is recruiting restaurants as its first step.

The goal of “Choose HEALth- Healthy Food Choices in Schuyler” is to educate diners and restaurant employees and reduce the rate of obesity among people within our county. Restaurants that choose to participate will meet the program’s standards and display provided logos and signs to show participation. Restaurants will receive great public relations and increase potential customers as well as feel good about offering healthy, delicious options on their menus.

Healthy options should follow the HEAL Schuyler adopted standards that are similar to the MyPlate guidelines and along with portion control, which do not require a nutritionist and require a minimal time commitment from the participating restaurant. For more information on the standards and an application to participate please refer to the HEAL Schuyler website at:
